Winter Date Night Ideas for Couples

Babbbyyyy it’s coooolllldddd outtttsiiiiddeeeee! Okay… I’m done singing now! :) You might be wondering why your photographer is giving you winter date night ideas… the reason is because what I do is SOO much more than photography, it’s Wholistic Photography. I’m in the business of keeping families and marriages together by creating intentional moments for them to not just pause and reflect but to SEE THE GOOD in their life. It’s my goals for couples JUST LIKE YOU to stay together forever… to keep making intentional choices to choose each other even in really hard seasons.

And one of the most important things in ALL relationships is quality time! But I also know that sometimes taking the time and energy to plan a date and budget for it isn’t always easy! So I’m giving you a WHOLE LIST of winter date night ideas for going out AND going in.

Date night ideas, winter date night ideas, illinois wedding photographer, wedding photographer, destination wedding photographer, central illinois wedding photographer, lincoln illinois wedding photographer, bloomington illinois wedding photographer…

Going out

1.) Ice Skating! Look for an indoor or outdoor rink! Either way, fun (and laughter) will be had!

2.) Go to a Concert!

3.) Volunteer! Winter is the time to give back! Check out some local food pantries or other places that you can give back to the community together.

4.) Visit your local winery for a tour or tasting

5.) Learn Something New Together: Cooking Classes, Dance Classes, Photography Class, the options are endless.

6.) Overnight getaway to a Cabin!

7.) Visit some local museums that you’ve never visited!

8.) Venture off to your FAVORITE local bookstore and hang out there for hours drinking coffee and reading different books.

9.) Go to an Arcade! Take a walk on the wild side and have a little lighthearted fun together!

10.) Trivia Night/Open Mic Night/Karaoke, etc.

11.) Indoor Rock Climbing!

12.) Go on a first date! I know this sound weird but this will bring about SOOOO MUCH LAUGHTER! Meet up at a local restaurant and pretend it’s your first date. Get all dressed up, ask those get to know you questions, answer them as if you were on a first date and go out of your way to impress each other! Trust me… this one is SO MUCH FUN!

13.) Thrift Shopping! You each get a $25 dollar limit and you have to walk around and find something you think the opposite person would love. Also, feel free to try this at Walmart or Target if thrift stores aren’t your thing. ;)

14.) Look at a map of your state and with your eyes closed, pick a random city! Every single city has a gem, whether its a store or a restaurant or something else, it’s up for YOU two to find it!

15.) Go Bowling!

16.) Mall Dare! Here’s a fun date night alternative that will have you cracking up in no time! And it’s cheap and easy!

17.) Random Acts of Kindness Date! Go to the store and buy a brand new thing of post-it notes. Now, your job is to get rid of them before the night is over in ways that spread joy and happiness. So whether it’s leaving random notes on cars, paying for someone behind you at the drive through and having the server give them the post-it. Leaving it in a book at the bookstore along with the cash to purchase that book. Leave a dollar in the dollar bins at Target along with a post-it that says, “Go for it! Get that thing you’re eyeing!” Be creative and have fun as you spread kindness around the world like confetti! Check out more Random Act of Kindness Ideas HERE.
